YMCA Torpoint – Centre Update (12th April 2021)

Dear members,

We are delighted to be welcoming you back from Monday 12th April for our fitness suite usage. All previous procedures will continue including Pre-booking before your arrival. Allocated slots in the fitness suite will be on the hour as before.

Opening hours as from 12th April
Monday – Friday 8am – 9pm (fitness suite closed 2.20-3.20pm)
Saturday 9am – 3pm
Sunday 9am – 12 noon

Some indoor activities and sport for under 18s will likely resume from 12th April, although this will depend on individual sporting bodies guidance  (please check clubs or contact us for more details). Adult indoor sports and activities will then resume from 17th May.

Direct debits fitness memberships will resume from 1st May. Therefore, your April time will be free to make up for lost time in January when payments had already been processed before lockdown began.

On behalf of the whole team at YMCA Torpoint, we can’t wait to see you all again soon. If you have any questions please email us at torpoint@ymcaplymouth.org.uk

Last entry to the Fitness Suite will be an hour before closing.

Please note the following:

Our guidelines require us to only allow 15 people per hourly slot to use the Fitness Suite at any one time – you will now find the Cardio Equipment in the Sports Hall and the Weights Area in the Fitness Suite required 2 metre distance were possible.

All users will need to come to the Centre already changed in gym clothes with limited personal belongings as we will no longer be able to provide lockers or changing rooms. And no personal belongings/bags/coats can be left on the floors.

In getting ready to open up again, we are following guidance from national governing bodies such as UK Active, the UK Government guidance and Public Health England and will continue to do so.

Sadly our Holiday Club will not be running this summer due to restrictions. For other clubs and services, please standby for details or contact the club direct.

Please bear with us a bit longer, we are almost there. We are deeply grateful for all your support and patience during this time. We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 3rd August. In the meantime, please check our website and social media pages for further updates.

Best Wishes,

Karl Curtis,
Centre Manager
