Discovery College students become Dementia Friends

Recently our Level 3 Health & Social Care Discovery College students completed training to become Dementia Friends.

Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.

Well done to all our students involved!

Students celebrate successful journey after Discovery College

Two ex-Business students from Discovery College, Habbib and Tom, recently graduated from Plymouth University. We would like to wish them a massive congratulations, as well as to all our ex-students who have recently left us messages upon graduating from University or moving on to new opportunities.

Here’s the message left to us by Habbib:

“I just wanted to thank Discovery College and the staff for all their hard work without them we wouldn’t be where we are right now!!”

Inflatable Fun Days set to return next week!

They’re back! After a long break, we are excited to announce that Inflatable Fun Days will be returning to our centre on Sunday 10th October. There’s plenty of fun to be had on the inflatable joust arena, football darts board, terror slide and more!

Dinosaurs descend on YMCA Plymouth

Ferocious dinosaurs were seen roaming the YMCA Sports Hall a couple of weeks ago for an amazing educational show hosted by Dinomania. The event saw huge puppet dinosaurs take over the Sports Hall for a unique and fun experience for the kids. If you missed out, the good news is Dinomania is set to return in the future – so look out for it when it does!
