YMCA Plymouth is a welcoming and personable charity, committed to helping our community to thrive through a range of Education & Training, Health & Wellbeing, Family & Youth, Support & Advice services.
We are a local and independent charity affiliated to the federation of YMCAs in England & Wales.
Our services are primarily delivered across two sites; our main YMCA Plymouth centre based on Honicknowle Lane in Plymouth (formally known as the Kitto Centre) and our satellite facility, Torpoint & Rame Community Sports Centre.
Our Purpose & Values
YMCA believes in fairness and opportunity. There are essential building blocks for a full and rewarding life: a safe home; acceptance; guidance; friendship; physical and mental health; academic support; employment skills; and access to real opportunities.
Many young people have never known these things; other people have lost one or more as they grew up, but we all need them.
All of us. At YMCA, we provide these critical foundations for a fresh, strong start for young people and a better quality of life in the community.
We are Welcoming
We offer people the space they need to feel secure, respected, heard and valued.
We are Empowering
We inspire each person we meet to realise their own strengths and reach their full potential in all they do.
We are inclusive
We ensure that everyone regardless of their ability, age, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic background has the opportunity to belong, contribute & thrive.
We are Serving
We are committed to the wellbeing of the communities we serve and believe in the positive benefit of participation, locally and in the wider world.
