Ocean City Soft Play is a brand-new soft play area for ages 0-7 at YMCA Plymouth, themed around our city’s great landmarks and marine heritage. Our safe space is ideal whatever the weather, including with air conditioning on for hot days! Plus, using our QR ordering system you can order food and drink right from your table without having to leave your seat.
Whatever the weather, kids can slide into Tinside Lido, clamber across the Brunel Bridge, spin around Smeaton’s tower, explore the streets of the Barbican, or dive under the waves into our deep sea-themed area. We also offer fantastic birthday party packages.

Session Details (Standard Sessions)
All sessions are valid for 90 minutes. Children must be accompanied by an at all times adult while in our soft play area. We offer special themed craft sessions for Under 5s on Thursday Mornings (see further details below).

SEND Sessions
We offer free sessions for children with Special Educational Needs and Disability in our Soft Play area. These sessions are at a reduced capacity to be more suitable for SEND children and their families. These sessions are for SEND children only.

On Thursday mornings we offer structured themed sessions led by our fantastic childcare team. These fun sessions are for Under 5s and include creative activities, games and more.

FAQs
Do I have to book in advance?
Booking in advance is always recommended to guarantee your spot, as our soft play can reach its capacity. But walk-ins are welcome if space is available. If you walk in, you can simply pay for your session at reception when you arrive.
How do I book the session?
Booking online is quick and easy! Simply log in to your YMCA account on our website (or create a free account if you’re new with us), select your preferred soft play time, and book your spot.
Do parents need to stay in the soft play?
Yes, children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times while in the soft play area to keep everyone safe and having fun.
How long is the session?
Each session is 90 minutes long.
Is there a café available during soft play sessions?
Yes! Our on-site café is open from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
You can order food and drinks directly from your table by scanning the QR code, and the café team will bring your order right to you. Occasionally, our café may be closed due to staffing reasons; however, we still have vending food and drink available, as well as a tea & coffee machine found in our reception.
Can we bring our own food and drink?
You are welcome to bring a small amount of your own snacks and drinks to enjoy at the soft play. However, a large amount of your own food (i.e. a full meal or large amount of buffet food) is not allowed to be brought in by yourself. This is to support our Kitchen business and be fair to their cleaning staff looking after the space. When bringing your own snacks and drinks, it is your responsibility to ensure you have cleaned up any mess before you leave by using the available bins and blue paper towels.

Are there baby changing facilities available?
Yes, we do have pull-down changing tables in both our male and female toilets, plus an accessible, dedicated baby changing toilet located right near our fitness studio. If you’re not sure where to go, just ask our friendly reception team, and they’ll happily point you in the right direction.
