Earlier this year, YMCA Plymouth announced our commitment to locking our fitness membership prices due to the cost-of-living crisis and the increased pressures on local families. As an independent Plymouth charity, supporting our community is at the heart of what we do and I’m pleased to inform you that we are now taking a further step to support our members.
In light of continued pressures faced by many in our community and after reviewing our pricing structure, we are turning our price lock, into a price drop, for Gold Fitness Memberships. As of 1st September 2023, Gold Memberships will now be charged at £24.99 per month, instead of the previous price of £31.99 per month.
There will be no change to the benefits included in the Gold Membership package. Gold Members will still have unlimited class access to our entire class timetable – which will soon be getting even bigger – each month, alongside unlimited access to the gym.
Our Silver Gym Only membership will remain at the same price of £21.99 per month but we hope many Silver members will take advantage of this fantastic offer to upgrade for only an extra £3 p/m.
Additionally, across both memberships, we are removing any future annual charity membership fees of £25. This will be a further saving of £25 per year for all existing & future members.
As you may be aware, your membership helps support our local charitable work including; food poverty support for Plymouth families, youth mentoring, mental health work, free youth clubs and activities for disadvantaged children, elderly support and much more. Therefore, this change to our pricing structure has not been taken lightly. It is only possible thanks to your continued support and loyalty, helping us grow our membership and improve our sustainability as a charity.
However, in order to continue to offer an outstanding community facility for everyone – while providing for vulnerable people in our local area – we still need your continued support to help us grow. Please tell your friends, family and colleagues about what we offer and get them involved. The more people who visit our centre, come to our gym and join our classes, the more we can continue to improve our centre for you – and importantly sustain our wider charitable services for people in need.
